vacation packages to bahamasBahama Islands News, Articles and InformationTeekay, Tanker Stocks, Havens in Market's Decline, May RallyJuly 11 (Bloomberg) -- As U.S. stocks sank in May and June, shares of oil-tanker companies such as Teekay Shipping Corp. proved buoyant, outperforming the Standard & Poor's 500 Index by 17 percentage points. The surge reverses 18 months of underperformance and may presage further gains to come, as share prices play catch-up to profit growth, with the added luster of dividends that outstrip even high-yielding utilities. The companies themselves also consider their stock cheap, if $1.31 billion in buybacks in the past year is any indication. ``As an investor, you want to buy when things are bleak, and these things have been pretty bleak,'' said J.C. Waller, who manages the $650-million Icon Energy Fund in Greenwood Village, Colorado. ``When you find that combination of value, dividend yield and price appreciation coming from where these things have been, you can't ignore it.'' The Bloomberg Tanker Index jumped 14 percent between the end of April and June 30, as daily rates for the largest carriers touched a four-month high in what is usually a period of price declines.

The unexpected... and then someExpect the unexpected, Calvary Temple youth leaders and organisers of its annual Youth Summit dare the public. And they've got four nights to deliver on their sky-scraping promise. The youth summit rolls around again for the 10th time this year with a roll call of speakers and entertainers who are known around the country. The summit waves the banner of "Exodus: We Are Breaking Free," this year. Calvary Youth Pastor, Duerre Thomas and bandanna-wearing youth leader, Bruce Russell, say that they've given the youth affair a 'Matrix' (of wildly successful movie trilogy fame) twist. "We want (young people) to know that God wants them to be free in every area of their lives," Thomas asserted. "Free from depression, free from suicidal thoughts, any type of immorality, free from drugs- anything that may have them stifled in life," he added.

From humble beginnings, seaside town evolves with the times.ATLANTIC CITY -- High rollers risk millions here on a single night. But their wagers are dwarfed when weighed against those placed on the idea that people would chase money, booze and sex on a barrier island in South Jersey. The city got ahead, nearly lost everything, then rallied. As a compelling drama should, the city's story had a unique setting that will be forever linked to its rise and comeback -- a four-mile seaside walkway called the Atlantic City boardwalk. Though legendary for most of its history, the boardwalk had a subservient beginning. A hotelier and a train conductor thought it up as a way to keep the beach sand visitors were tracking inside from ruining fine carpets and stuffed chairs. The first boardwalk, laid across dunes and mosquito marsh in 1870, consisted of flimsy 12-foot sections that could be taken up after the summer.
