Federer, Bjorkman, Baghdatis in Wimbledon semifinals; Nestor wins ...

LONDON (AP) - The "Ooohs" and "Aaahs" from an appreciative crowd began during warmups, when Roger Federer volleyed one ball through his legs. His artistry grew more impressive once play began for real.

Facing the last man to defeat him on grass, three-time Wimbledon champion Federer quickly turned the Centre Court rematch into a mismatch, beating No. 7-seeded Mario Ancic 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 on Wednesday to reach the semifinals.

If the score was routine, Federer's play was anything but. Some shots were so sublime that even the Swiss star was taken aback.

"I definitely had a period where it was so good, it was just incredible," said Federer, bidding to become the first man since Bjorn Borg in 1976 to win Wimbledon without dropping a set. "You're not afraid to try anything, you're not afraid to hit the ball hard, you're not afraid to go for aces.

MI WEEK IN REVIEW: Zinc battles it out at the $3,000 level

For a more detailed look at the background for the recent flight to quality among the world's money men, check out our weekly review of the copper market. But the selling raged unabated Monday and Tuesday across the whole LME complex, the wider commodities complex and a good part of the world's equity markets to boot.

After an early dead-cat bounce above $3,300 per tonne mid-day Monday, LME 3-month zinc steadily slid away over the rest of the day to $3,235 at the closea day-to-day decline of $85.

The selling elsewhere in the metals reached a crescendo on Tuesday but it was zinc that bore the brunt of the pressure, slumping through a series of chart support levels clustered just above and around the psychological big-number level of $3,000. The Tuesday close at $2,960 represented a day-to-day loss of $275, or 8.5%!

There was a sense of zinc playing catch-up with some of the other metals as the CTA systematic fund community sharply reduced its long exposure from around 50% of potential capacity the previous Friday to somewhere much closer to 30% by Wednesday.

Rum Runners offers booze, beach and AC!

There was a party going on when I ducked in Rum Runners Lounge last Saturday. Someone was celebrating the Big 5-0 and a cast of baby boomers took turns singing "Urban Cowboy" country tunes and classic rock favorites. Most of the people - me included - were visiting the new watering hole for the first time.

The setting proved a choice selection for the grinning attendees.

Rum Runners sits in the Braden River Plaza strip mall on State Road 64 just inside Bradenton's eastern border. The bar is hidden behind a pizza shop and the free-standing Applebee's Neighborhood Grill and Bar that dominates the parking lot.

Whereas Applebee's offers a family friendly drinking and dining destination, Rum Runners, as the name suggests, is strictly for drinkers.

There is no food on the menu.

Al Casolare - traditional Italian cuisine at home

Unbeknownst to many Romanians, an exquisite Italian restaurant frequently visited by world-famous actors, business executives and expats lies among the country houses of Buftea.
It's a busy day in the small kitchen of a countryside home in Buftea. The home-baked bread is sliced, the lobsters are boiled, the pasta is mixed with the marinara sauce. The two cooks - mother and daughter - make the final preparations for the evening. Everything is set for their guests to feel at home.
The rhythmic noise of the knife dicing fresh, aromatic herbs is stopped by the door slamming open.
It's Andy Garcia entering the room. "Ai, mama, che mi fai sta sera?" he says with his arms wide open and a big smile on his face.
This is not a scene from the famous actor's movie; it is a normal day at Al Casolare in the lown of Buftea, about half an hour's drive from Bucharest.
